God Has Lifted Up: An Advent Morning with The Saint John’s Bible
Enter the heart of Advent through Mary’s song of hope—the Magnificat—and its stunning illumination in The Saint John’s Bible.
Through three brief conferences, we will journey with Mary from Encounter: Mary’s Yes, through Descent: Lowliness and the God Who Looks, and finally to Reversal and Response: Actionable Hope. Together, we will explore what Mary’s song reveals about a God who draws near, lifts up the lowly, and invites us to become bearers of hope in our own time.
The morning will weave together Scripture, lectio and visio divina, silence and personal reflection, along with a hands-on experience engaging the Magnificat illumination in The Saint John’s Bible.
Participants are warmly encouraged to begin the day with Morning Prayer with the Sisters at 8:00am. Registration opens at 8:30am, with light breakfast refreshments, and the retreat begins at 9:00am concluding with midday prayer with the Sisters at 11:30am (followed by the lunch).
Come make a little room in the busyness of Advent to listen, wonder, pray, and discover anew the hope proclaimed in Mary’s song.
This event is hybrid with option for in-person and virtual participation.
