2025 Blessing of the Animals

Join us at St. Paul’s Monastery for our annual Blessing of the Animals—a joyful, heartwarming celebration of the beloved creatures who share our lives and remind us of God’s boundless love.

All are welcome—people of every age and pets of every kind! Whether you have a dog with a wagging tail, a curious cat, a cuddly rabbit, a talkative bird, or even a beloved stuffed animal, come and receive a special blessing for your animal companion. This event is rooted in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi and honors the sacred bond we share with all creation. All animal guests will receive a Monastery pet bandana and a blessed medal of St. Benedict for pet collars.

We’ll gather outdoors in a peaceful, pet-friendly space for a short prayer service, followed by individual blessings from the Sisters of St. Paul’s Monastery and area clergy. There will be treats for pets and refreshments for humans, along with opportunities to connect with others in our community who love animals as much as you do.

In the spirit of Benedictine hospitality, we also invite you to bring a door donation of pet food or pet supplies. All items will be donated to Tubman’s Harriet’s Haven for Pets, which provides a safe haven for pets whose families are experiencing crisis.
