St. Scholastica is finally a reality!
In 2015, the Sisters commissioned Linda Dabeau to create a statue of St. Benedict. This beautiful bronze statue stands proudly at the edge of the cemetery, a young Benedict gazing prayerfully into a future full of hope.
This last December, the generous donors who made the statue of St. Benedict possible pledged their support to engage Linda Dabeau again to create a statue of St. Scholastica. Jack and Cathy Farrell bless the Sisters with a long-desired image of St. Scholastica. It is expected that the statue will be ready for installation in the spring of 2025.
After much discussion and prayer, the Sisters decided to place this new image of St. Scholastica in the courtyard just outside the health care center and chapel. A new base is needed to support this statue and is estimated to cost around $5000.
Donations to this appeal support the Sisters' long hope to have an image of St. Scholastica for guests and retreatants to enjoy in the way they have come to appreciate the statue of St. Benedict. Thank you for your generous support of this appeal.
